What kind of a light are you?

13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Today's sermon was one that really made you evaluate yourself and do an inventory. How do I measure up? Am I a shining example to the world? Those that are a shining example stay on the path of living a righteous life. Pastor Steve asked, "Do you live a marked life?" Is your life marked by a uniqueness, are you different and can others tell? He then challenged us to quit trying to live a unique life in our own power and stop and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and give you the strength and power to do it. He commented that if you think about the people you know who live a life that is marked by uniqueness that they share a common trait, consistency. They will not waffle or waver, but walk in consistency. I don't know about you but that is the trait I want to possess, consistency! Examine yourself today, what kind of light are you? Can others tell you are a believer, or is your light so dim that others do not even notice?
